Sort stored items before moving them outside
Look inside boxes and containers before placing them in the disposal pile. Batteries, tyres and liquid paints are prohibited, along with asbestos and mattresses. Confirm unfamiliar materials with GetBins. Keep anything intended for donation or reuse separate, so the size discussion reflects only the waste that will actually enter the skip.
Distinguish clearing from demolition
Removing ordinary garage contents differs from breaking up paving, slabs or other hard materials. Soil, bricks, concrete, rocks, asphalt and tiles are excluded from light waste. Household and light options are within 2–30 m³, with no 10 m³ stock; heavy mixed options are 2–8 m³, subject to your described load.
Leave the access plan in place until collection
Tell GetBins about gates, parked vehicles and overhead obstacles, and keep the agreed approach available for pickup too. Standard hire is 3–5 days with Monday–Saturday scheduling. Your exact Burnside address, access, preferred dates and price need confirmation before service from the Tarneit yard is booked, so organise loading help against those confirmed details.
Placement on public land
If private-property placement is not possible, ask our office before selecting a road or nature-strip position. Check the permissions and placement conditions that apply to the exact address with the relevant authority. Submitting a booking request does not issue a permit.
