Separate retained items from the waste pile
Before trades begin, mark the furniture, doors, fittings and other pieces that will stay. Keep them away from the material intended for the bin. A room-by-room inventory helps estimate volume without counting reusable items twice. Include large pieces in your enquiry and ask about dimensions if their shape could affect the choice of bin.
Identify heavier parts of the strip-out
Removing cupboards and carpet is different from removing tiled surfaces or masonry. Light builders bins exclude tiles, bricks, concrete, rocks, soil and asphalt; heavy mixed waste uses the 2m³–8m³ range. Explain which rooms are changing and what is being removed from each, rather than submitting a general renovation label that leaves the material unclear.
Keep the delivery approach available
Check the proposed position against the access needed by trades, household vehicles and incoming materials. Report gates, overhead obstructions and any limited turning space for the office to assess. If multiple stages will produce waste over several weeks, discuss the timing before requesting a standard 3–5 day hire. Additional time or later deliveries need a confirmed arrangement.
Placement on public land
If private-property placement is not possible, ask our office before selecting a road or nature-strip position. Check the permissions and placement conditions that apply to the exact address with the relevant authority. Submitting a booking request does not issue a permit.

GetBins operates Monday–Saturday. Asbestos, mattresses, liquid paints, batteries and tyres are prohibited. Prices and allowances depend on the selected waste category. Our office confirms your exact address, access, available dates and total price before payment; an online request is not yet a confirmed booking.
