Give each person a clear sorting task
Have everyone identify their own unwanted furniture and boxed items, then combine the estimates before choosing capacity. Keep belongings belonging to departing and remaining occupants clearly separated. Bulky desks or shelves can use more space than a bag count suggests. Household and light-waste bins range from 2m³ to 30m³; send the office a list of the largest pieces and ask for a suitable option.
Agree on access and who will be present
Nominate one person to handle the delivery details and explain any shared driveway, gated entrance or managed building arrangements. Provide information about the truck approach and overhead obstacles, and keep the route into the home usable. If moving vehicles also need the proposed space, decide their sequence in advance. The office must confirm the actual position rather than relying on a housemate’s rough estimate of room.
Check bedrooms and storage areas before loading
Mattresses cannot go in the bin, even as part of a bedroom clear-out. Batteries, liquid paints, tyres and asbestos are also prohibited. Describe any renovation material separately because bricks, tiles, concrete, rocks, asphalt and soil are excluded from light waste. Standard hire is 3–5 days with Monday–Saturday operations; coordinate helpers and key-return arrangements around the confirmed schedule, leaving time to check each room.
Placement on public land
If private-property placement is not possible, ask our office before selecting a road or nature-strip position. Check the permissions and placement conditions that apply to the exact address with the relevant authority. Submitting a booking request does not issue a permit.
Before you book
GetBins operates Monday–Saturday. Asbestos, mattresses, liquid paints, batteries and tyres are prohibited. Prices and allowances depend on the selected waste category. Our office confirms your exact address, access, available dates and total price before payment; an online request is not yet a confirmed booking.
