Measure the items that drive the decision
Record the approximate size of shelving, cabinets or other bulky furnishings you intend to discard. Note which pieces can be safely disassembled and which must remain whole. Capacity in cubic metres is not the same as the bin footprint, so request actual dimensions if placement is tight. Household and light sizes range from 2m³ to 30m³; confirm the appropriate available option with the office.
Protect access during a short move
If the bin will share a driveway or loading area with movers, plan which vehicle needs the space first. Explain any building entry controls, common areas and proposed truck approach before booking. Keep an accessible route to the property throughout loading. Arranging the sequence in advance reduces the chance of a full removal vehicle and the bin delivery competing for the same position.
Check what is inside storage furniture
Empty drawers and cupboards before adding furniture to the discard pile. Batteries and liquid paints are prohibited, as are mattresses, tyres and asbestos. Renovation rubble needs a separate category discussion because soil, bricks, concrete, rocks, asphalt and tiles cannot go in light waste. Standard hire is 3–5 days with Monday–Saturday operations; make sure the confirmed collection fits any move-out or building-access deadline.
Placement on public land
If private-property placement is not possible, ask our office before selecting a road or nature-strip position. Check the permissions and placement conditions that apply to the exact address with the relevant authority. Submitting a booking request does not issue a permit.

GetBins operates Monday–Saturday. Asbestos, mattresses, liquid paints, batteries and tyres are prohibited. Prices and allowances depend on the selected waste category. Our office confirms your exact address, access, available dates and total price before payment; an online request is not yet a confirmed booking.
