Open the boxes before estimating volume
Stored cartons can conceal more than general household rubbish. Set aside items you will retain, identify the largest shelving or storage pieces, and inspect the contents of containers before planning the load. Photographs of a sorted pile are more informative than the size of the garage alone. Household and light-waste bins range from 2m³ to 30m³, with the appropriate category and size confirmed for the actual materials.
Keep workshop hazards out of the pile
Batteries, tyres and liquid paints are prohibited, along with asbestos and mattresses. Do not empty unidentified liquids into the bin or assume containers from a workshop are ordinary household waste. Describe unusual materials to the office and wait for advice. Bricks, tiles, soil, concrete, asphalt and rocks are also excluded from light waste, even when they have been stored indoors for years.
Leave room to use the driveway
Decide whether vehicles need to enter the garage during the hire and explain this when discussing placement. Send details of the truck approach, gates and any overhead obstructions. Avoid choosing a spot that prevents access to items you still need. Standard hire is 3–5 days with Monday–Saturday operations, so schedule the sorting first and leave the confirmed hire window for loading and a final sweep.
Placement on public land
If private-property placement is not possible, ask our office before selecting a road or nature-strip position. Check the permissions and placement conditions that apply to the exact address with the relevant authority. Submitting a booking request does not issue a permit.
Before you book
GetBins operates Monday–Saturday. Asbestos, mattresses, liquid paints, batteries and tyres are prohibited. Prices and allowances depend on the selected waste category. Our office confirms your exact address, access, available dates and total price before payment; an online request is not yet a confirmed booking.
